Terms and Conditions of Use

Please read these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using our TermHub Application (the "Service") operated by West Coast Informatics, Inc ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who wish to access or use the Service.

BBy accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of the Terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the Service.

1. Use of the Service

1.1 You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

1.2 Use of the service requires an account username that is a valid email address that we can use to communicate with.

1.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

1.4 Users must have a valid UMLS user account and comply with the UMLS License Agreement and its Affiliate Licenses, including terms for SNOMEDCT and other terminologies.

1.5 The Service is provided "as is" for users on the STARTER plan, with no warranties and at your own risk.

1.6 Accounts not verified within 30 days of registration may be suspended or terminated.

2. Prohibited Activities

When using the Service, you agree not to:
2.1 Overwhelm the system by creating excessive load, conducting denial-of-service attacks, or engaging in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the functionality of the Service.
2.2 Intentionally attempt to break or compromise the Service through unauthorized testing, reverse engineering, or exploiting vulnerabilities.
2.3 Resell, redistribute, or sublicense TermHub™ services or content to downstream customers without prior written authorization, including under “Open TermHub” offerings.
2.4 Violate third-party licensing terms associated with UMLS, SNOMEDCT, or other content providers.
2.5 Use the Service in ways that violate applicable laws, regulations, or third-party agreements.

3. Content

3.1 The Service allows you to access, link to, and use content and information ("Content") provided by third parties.
3.2 We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the Content and disclaim liability for any errors or inaccuracies, including minor inaccuracies in SNOMEDCT or UMLS representations.
3.3 You acknowledge that the Content may include materials that some users may find objectionable and agree to use the Service at your sole risk.

4. Limitation of Liability

4.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.

  • Errors, inaccuracies, or delays in the Content.

  • Unauthorized access to your account or data.

4.2 The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

5. Indemnification

5.1 You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless West Coast Informatics, Inc., its affiliates, and partners from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

  • Unauthorized resale, misuse, or redistribution of TermHub™ content or services.

  • Any inaccuracies in the Content or its use in your projects.

6. Privacy

6.1 Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which can be found at https://www.terminologyhub.com/privacy-policy.

7. Termination

7.1 We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to breach of these Terms.

8. Changes to the Terms

8.1 We may modify or replace these Terms at any time. If revisions are material, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice via the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms..

9. Governing Law

9.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in California, except where prohibited by law.
